Yes — open it and start
Open the workspace. No account, no email, no install. You get the real Minty Path canvas, not a demo reel: add branches, drag them around, zoom, go fullscreen, open a branch and give it notes, todos, and status.
Your work saves in that browser. If you later create an account, you are offered a one-time import that turns it into your first owned Growth Path. Nothing is emailed to you, and nothing is uploaded while you are working without an account.
The rest of this page is the detail people reasonably want before they trust a tool with their thinking.
Where the work actually lives
In your browser's local storage, on this device. Not on a server, not in an anonymous account, not behind a link someone could stumble on.
The practical consequences, stated plainly rather than buried:
- It does not follow you between devices. Start on a laptop and it is not on your phone.
- Clearing browser data deletes it. Same as any local storage.
- It cannot be shared. Guest maps are not addressable by URL, on purpose.
- It is one Growth Path, with its branches, relationships, notes, todos, and proof entries.
None of that is a crippled trial. It is what "in your browser" actually means, and the honest version is more useful than a signup flow that discovers it for you later.
What the no-account version leaves out
The parts that need a server or an identity:
- Sharing a path, review comments, and the Public Path Library
- File attachments on Proof entries
- Reminders that persist across devices, calendar feeds, and email capture into the Inbox
- Private Details, the browser-encrypted area inside a branch
- Multiple Growth Paths, backups, and account exports
Plan View, Work View, branches, statuses, Focus, notes, todos, and proof text are all there without an account. The map itself is not the part held back.
What happens if you do sign up
The path you built comes with you. On first sign-in, Minty Path detects the local snapshot and offers one validated import into a newly created Growth Path you own. The local copy is removed only after that import succeeds — not before, and not if it fails.
You are not obliged to. Guest work can stay guest work indefinitely.
Why a tool would let you skip the signup at all
Because a mind map is a thinking tool, and whether a thinking tool suits you is not something a feature list can answer. You find out by dragging a branch and seeing whether the structure that appears matches how the problem sits in your head.
An email gate before that question is answered collects addresses from people who then discover the tool was not for them. Letting you find out first is a straightforward trade: fewer signups, and the ones that happen mean something.
What to actually do in the first five minutes
A blank canvas is harder than it looks, so:
- Write the centre as a real question, not a category. "How do I move to a role that doesn't need night shifts?" beats "Career."
- Add three to six branches, one for each thing that could fail on its own terms. Not steps in order — separate conditions.
- Stop. Do not go three levels deep yet. Structure invented before you have looked at it is mostly guesswork.
- Open one branch and add a todo or a note, so the map stops being a diagram and starts being somewhere work lives.
- Mark one branch Focus. One. That is the mechanic that makes the rest of the map safe to leave alone.
Common questions
Is it free? The core product is free while it is being developed with early users. Any future paid option would be introduced clearly rather than by quietly removing access you already have.
Do I have to use AI? No. AI is entirely optional and off unless you go and turn it on. The provider-neutral flow just builds a prompt for whatever assistant you already use — it does not send your map anywhere.
Does it work on a phone? Yes — touch panning, pinch zoom, branch selection and fullscreen all work. Large maps are still more comfortable on a bigger screen.
Can I get my work out? Growth Paths export as Minty Path data and as SVG, PNG, JPEG, or PDF. Account holders also get full backup and restore.
What is the catch? That the guest workspace is genuinely local, with the limits listed above. That is the trade, and it is the whole of it.
