Frequently asked questions
Understand the product before committing your work.
Try the map without an account, then use these answers for the details Guest Mode cannot show.
What is Minty Path?
Minty Path is a personal organizer built around visual Growth Paths. Plan View helps you understand the whole structure, while Work View keeps Focus, status, Notes, Todos, Reminders, dates, and Proof attached to the branches where they belong.
Can I try Minty Path without creating an account?
Yes. Guest Mode opens the real mind-map workspace with browser-local saving. You can build and rearrange one Growth Path, use fullscreen Plan View, and keep that path when you create an account.
What happens to work created in Guest Mode?
Guest work stays in that browser and is not stored in a Minty Path account. It is not intended for sharing or moving between devices. Create an account when you want to keep the Growth Path as owned account data.
Is Minty Path just a mind map app?
No. The interactive mind map is the center of the product, but every branch can also hold status, Focus, Notes, Todos, Reminders, Aim dates, Deadlines, Proof, relationships, and optional Private Details.
Is it a task manager?
Not primarily. Minty Path can hold Todos and Reminders, but its main job is to keep the larger structure visible: what a goal contains, what matters now, what needs remembering, and what you can demonstrate.
What are Growth Paths?
A Growth Path is one visual workspace for a goal, project, skill, responsibility, career direction, or life area. Branches break the subject into meaningful parts you can arrange, connect, focus, and work through.
What are Primary, Active, Paused, Completed, and Archived paths?
Those states help many Growth Paths coexist without making everything equally urgent. One path can be Primary, other current paths remain Active, and Paused, Completed, or Archived paths stay available without crowding the main direction.
What is Inbox for?
Inbox is quick capture for loose ideas, tasks, links, messages, or thoughts that are not organized yet. Keep an item standalone, archive it, or connect it to a Growth Path and branch when its context becomes clear.
Can email be captured in Inbox?
Yes. An account can use a private Minty Path email address and an allowlist of approved sender addresses. Accepted messages become Inbox items that can later be linked to a Growth Path or branch.
What are Reminders and Time Blocks?
Reminders remember a commitment and can stand alone or connect to a Growth Path or branch. Time Blocks provide daily, weekly, and monthly views of broad time containers without turning every open hour into a task.
Does Minty Path use AI?
No AI is required. Create with AI is optional and provider-neutral: Minty Path gives you a prompt, you use the assistant you choose, and the returned CSV is validated and previewed before a Growth Path is created. Minty Path does not send your plans to an AI model.
Can I start from a template?
Yes. Templates are organized by category and include previews and metadata. You can rename the new Growth Path before importing it, then change or remove any branch after creation.
Can I share a Growth Path?
Yes. Sharing is view-only and can use an open link, a password, or an invited email address. You choose whether supporting Notes, Todos, and Reminders are included, and you can revoke the share later from link management.
Can someone duplicate a shared Growth Path?
Yes. A signed-in user can duplicate a shared Growth Path into their own account. A new visitor can create an account first, then keep an independent copy without changing the original.
Does Minty Path have collaboration?
Minty Path supports controlled view-only sharing and duplication, but not real-time collaborative editing. Each owned Growth Path still belongs to one account.
Can I export my data or the visual map?
Yes. Growth Paths can be exported as Minty Path data and as SVG, PNG, JPEG, or PDF visuals. Full account backup and restore tools are available from the account area.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. Minty Path is a responsive web app with touch controls for panning, pinch zoom, branch selection, movement, fullscreen Plan View, and branch details. Very large maps remain more comfortable on a larger screen.
What are Private Details?
Private Details are an optional encrypted area inside a branch for occasional sensitive information. Encryption and decryption happen in the browser with your private passphrase; normal Notes, Todos, Proof, and Inbox items are not part of that encrypted area.
Is Minty Path free?
The current core product is free while it is being developed with early users. Any future paid or supporter options will be introduced clearly rather than silently removing existing access.
How many Focus items should I use?
Usually one to three branches inside the Primary Path. Focus loses meaning when nearly everything is selected.
What should count as Proof?
A completed project, work result, published page, script, report, certificate, screenshot, feedback, demonstration, or a clear reflection explaining how you applied the skill. Registered users can also attach a private JPG, PNG, WebP, or PDF file.
Who can see files attached to Proof?
Proof attachments are private to the signed-in account. They are not included in Guest Mode, shared Growth Paths, or shared duplicates. Every preview and download checks account ownership first.
Should every branch have a date?
No. Add a date only when timing genuinely matters. Use an Aim date for a soft target and a Deadline for a fixed commitment.
Is my data private?
Your account and Growth Path content are used to provide and secure the service. Admin tools show account and backup information but are not designed for routine browsing of private map content. Read the Privacy Policy for the full explanation.
What happens when I delete my account?
Account deletion removes active account access and map data after confirmation. A limited recovery backup may be retained temporarily for safety and administrative recovery as described in the Privacy Policy.
