How Minty Path works

Structure first. Follow-through after.

Minty Path helps you move from loose thoughts to clear Growth Paths, practical actions, reminders, notes, and reflection without turning everything into one giant task board.

The flow

Capture, organize, act, remember, reflect.

Each part of Minty Path has one job. You do not have to use every tool every day.

Capture loose thoughts

Use Inbox for ideas, tasks, links, and reminders-to-self that do not have a home yet. It keeps messy capture separate from structured planning.

Organize with Growth Paths

Create one Growth Path for a goal, project, skill, responsibility, career direction, or area of life. Add branches until the subject becomes easier to understand.

Use Work View for execution

Open a branch to update status, Focus, notes, Todos, dates, reminders, and Proof. Work View is where the plan becomes practical.

Use Plan View for understanding

Pan, zoom, arrange, select groups, make branches independent, create relationships, and clean up large maps visually.

Remember what matters

Add one-time or repeating reminders. They can stand alone or link directly to the Growth Path or branch they belong to.

Reflect without guilt

Use Focus branches, upcoming dates, reminders, and Time Blocks only when they help you decide where to go next.

Keep what you can prove

Record simple Proof entries as results become real, then find them across every Growth Path in the Proof Library.

Core ideas

Simple labels, clear jobs.

Growth Path

A visual plan for one goal, project, skill, career direction, or area of life.

A Growth Path gives one subject its own space. Start broad, add branches only when they become useful, and split a branch into another Growth Path when it grows into a project of its own.

Focus

What deserves your attention now—not everything that matters eventually.

Focus is independent from status and dates. Keep it small, usually one to three branches, so it remains a useful decision instead of another label.

Aim date

A soft target for work you would like to reach around a certain date.

When an Aim date passes, Minty Path stays calm. Move it, clear it, or reconsider it without creating a wall of red overdue tasks.

!

Deadline

A fixed commitment with a real consequence if the date is missed.

Use a Deadline for an application closing, exam, launch, client commitment, event, or another date you do not control.

Proof

Something tangible that shows the work became real.

Proof can be a finished project, result, link, screenshot, certificate, report, feedback, demonstration, or a clear note showing how you applied what you learned.

Work View

The practical view for status, Focus, notes, Todos, dates, Reminders, and Proof.

Use Work View when you are deciding what to do, capturing context, checking off actions, setting reminders, or recording evidence.

Plan View

The visual view for understanding and reorganizing the whole structure.

Use Plan View to pan, zoom, arrange, select branches, create relationships, dim unrelated branches, and see how one part of a Growth Path relates to another.

Growth Paths

The main structure.

Growth Paths hold the bigger picture. Start blank or browse category-based templates and preview their branches before creating a path for learning, career change, projects, or life areas.

  • Choose one Primary Path for your main direction.
  • Keep other paths Active, Paused, Completed, or Archived.
  • Break broad ideas into branches and sub-branches.
  • Use Focus when something deserves attention now.
  • Use Aim dates for soft targets and Deadlines for real commitments.

Companion tools

The follow-through layer.

Inbox, Reminders, Todos, Notes, Proof, and Time Blocks are not separate worlds. They connect back to Growth Paths and branches when useful.

  • Inbox captures unsorted thoughts.
  • Reminders remember dates and repeating routines.
  • Todos show branch actions across every map.
  • Notes surface context that would otherwise stay buried.
  • Proof collects demonstrable results in one searchable library.
  • Time Blocks reveal the shape of a day and broader patterns without creating a pressure schedule.

Create with AI

Use AI without making Minty Path an AI service.

Minty Path can generate a prompt for any AI assistant. Choose Quick outline, Detailed map, or Deep understanding. The assistant asks questions first, then returns a CSV that Minty Path validates and previews before creating a new Growth Path.

Minty Path does not send your plans to an AI model. You choose the assistant, copy the prompt, and bring the result back yourself.

Large maps

Clean up structure without starting over.

Imports and deep AI maps can be large. Plan View includes tools for arranging and reorganizing them on mouse or touch screens.

  • Arrange can rebalance a whole map or selected branches.
  • Select branches lets you move groups together.
  • Connect to moves selected branches under a new parent.
  • Relate to creates a cross-link without changing hierarchy.
  • Make independent frees branches that do not belong where they are.
  • Undo makes layout experiments safer.
  • Explain screen includes a replayable guided tour of the current view.

A light weekly rhythm

Keep the system lighter than the life it supports.

  1. Check your Focus branches and choose what needs attention.
  2. Clear or link Inbox items that have a home now.
  3. Keep one to three Focus branches.
  4. Check upcoming reminders, Aim dates, and Deadlines.
  5. Update Todos, Notes, and Proof only where it helps.
