Frequently asked questions
What Minty Path is—and what it is not.
The core ideas are simple once each part has a clear job.
What is Minty Path?
Minty Path is a personal organizer built around Growth Paths. Growth Paths give goals, skills, projects, and life areas a visual structure, while Inbox, Reminders, Todos, Notes, and Time Blocks help you follow through.
Is Minty Path just a mind map app?
No. Plan View gives you a mind-map style overview, but Minty Path also includes Work View, branch status, Focus, Aim dates, Deadlines, Reminders, Todos, Notes, Inbox capture, Time Blocks, relationships, imports, exports, and proof tracking.
Is it a task manager?
Not primarily. Minty Path can hold Todos, but the main idea is structure first: know what a goal contains, what matters now, what needs remembering, and what has actually moved forward.
What are Growth Paths?
A Growth Path is one dedicated space for a goal, project, skill, responsibility, career direction, or life area. Branches break the path into meaningful parts so the subject becomes easier to understand and act on.
What is Inbox for?
Inbox is quick capture. Use it for loose ideas, tasks, links, or thoughts that are not organized yet. Once an item is linked to a Growth Path or branch, it leaves the open Inbox and becomes part of the system.
What are Reminders?
Reminders can be standalone, linked to a Growth Path, or linked directly to a branch. They support one-time and repeating reminders inside Minty Path. Browser push, email reminders, and calendar sync are not part of this release yet.
Does Minty Path use AI?
No AI is required. Create with AI is optional and provider-neutral: Minty Path gives you a prompt, you run it in the assistant you choose, and you bring the CSV back for validation and preview. Minty Path does not send your plans to an AI model.
Can I import a Trello board?
Yes. Trello JSON import can convert lists, cards, checklists, comments, attachment links, and due dates. Large boards can become large maps, so Plan View includes Arrange, Select, Connect to, Make independent, and Undo tools to help clean them up.
Can I export my data?
Yes. You can export individual Growth Paths and full account data as Minty Path JSON. Admin recovery backups and local full-system backups also exist for maintenance and recovery.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. Minty Path is a responsive web app, so the same account works on desktop, tablet, and phone without a separate mobile app or sync layer. Very large visual maps are still more comfortable on a larger screen.
Does Minty Path have collaboration?
No. Minty Path is currently focused on helping one person think clearly, organize their own paths, and follow through without team-workspace noise.
Is Minty Path free?
The current core product is free while it is being developed with early users. Any future paid or supporter options will be introduced clearly rather than silently removing existing access.
Should every branch have a date?
No. Add a date only when timing genuinely matters. Use an Aim date for a soft target and a Deadline for a fixed commitment.
How many Focus items should I use?
Usually one to three. Focus loses meaning when nearly everything is selected.
What should count as Proof?
A completed project, work result, published page, script, report, certificate, screenshot, feedback, demonstration, or a clear note explaining how you applied the skill.
Is my data private?
Your account and Growth Path content are used to provide and secure the service. Admin tools show account and backup information but are not designed for routine browsing of private map content. Read the Privacy Policy for the full explanation.
What happens when I delete my account?
Account deletion removes active account access and map data after confirmation. A limited recovery backup may be retained temporarily for safety and administrative recovery as described in the Privacy Policy.
